Hi, I am

Falak.

I am an Architect turned Product Designer, currently a Master's student at Indiana University's HCI/d program with three years of experience in the design industry, including roles at IA Collaborative, Chicago and OLX Autos.

I'm currently working as an Associate Instructor, wherein I guide graduate and undergraduate students in diverse design philosophies, advanced methods of interaction design, and usability assessment using quantitative and qualitative methods.

I care greatly about empowering users and helping them grow by making accessible products. My work thrives on curiosity and risk-taking and developing innovative design solutions that positively impact users. By nature, I am a self-driven and positive person, a team player, a fighter and love taking initiative at the workplace.

I’ve designed for multi-sided ecosystems and platforms.

I’ve designed experiences for multiple audiences - sellers & buyers, sellers & dealers, on both mobile & desktop platforms - often approaching these projects from multiple perspectives, taking into account different platforms and use cases.

My work thrives on risk-taking and I know how to design for scale.

I’ve worked on complex problems and facilitated cross-functional alignment between teams in order to design sustainable solutions through iterations that built to scale in the long run.

Every pixel matters

I believe in the power of precision. The smallest elements contribute significantly to the overall design narrative.

Don't fall in love with your design

While passion fuels creativity, I've learned not to get too attached. Objectivity allows room for constant improvement and evolution.

Complexity can be good

I thrive on complexity in design. It's not about complicating things for the sake of it but embracing intricacies that add layers and depth.
